Since Vista,Microsoft Defender is included with Windows . It’s a small piece of software that runs in the background to help protect ,your computer from malware (malicious software) like viruses, spyware, and other potentially unwanted software. Some spyware protection is better than none, and it’s built in and free! But… if you are already running something that provides great anti-malware protection, defender will probably wasting precious resources , there’s no need to have more than one application running at a time.
The problem with all Defender versions in Windows Vista and above is it’s integrated into the operating system and installs by default with no visible or hidden option to uninstall. Many people are looking for ways to disable or remove it from their system as they prefer to use other software , for example on Windows 8 and 10 you cannot turn off Microsoft Defender completely anymore , A click on Settings in Microsoft Defender opens the control panel for the program in the new Windows Settings application. You can turn the program’s real-time protection off temporarily, but if it’s off for a while Windows will turn it back on automatically. It is unclear why Microsoft made the decision to change the behavior of Microsoft Defender in this regard. What is certain however is that it will annoy users who want to disable it permanently on the computer they are working on. Defender Control is a small Portable freeware which will allow you to disable Microsoft Defenderr in Windows 10 completely.

How to use Defender control:
Download Defender control and unzip it then run the program , Our recommendation is please use the “Add it to the exclusion list” feature (Under the menu) after running the software first time , So you won’t be affected by possible false alerts. When you use this feature, a shortcut will be created on the desktop.Excluded defender control path is “C:\Program Files (x86)\DefenderControl\dControl.exe”

2. Red – Microsoft Defender is turned off

To Disable – Enable Microsoft Defender please click the appropriate button , you can also Launch Microsoft Defender or Microsoft Defender settings (Under the menu button) with one click.
NOTE 1 : If you cannot enable “Windows Defender” after disabling it with “Defender Control”, please use “Enable windows defender” button and restart the system then wait a few minutes for Windows Defender to be automatically activated after the system is turned.
NOTE 2 : If Microsoft Defender “Tamper Protection” is turned on , Defender Control requires the TrustedInstaller service to bypass protection and turn off the defender. Therefore If there is a problem with the TrustedInstaller service, sometimes program may need to wait 3-5 second to turn Microsoft Defender on or Off .
NOTE 3 : Defender control , shuts down the defender ,Therefore ; There may be false positives on Virustotal. If you use the program continuously please use Menu – “Add it to the Exclusion List” feature to add “Defender control” to white list.

Dear Sirs: I have taken the trouble to translate all these comment threads into Spanish because I am trying to install a program that Windows Defender in Windows 10 v. 21H2 doesn’t have options to disable it, but since I’m not technical, I haven’t found something like a tutorial to install dControl and I would be very grateful if you could tell me where I could find it. If it doesn’t exist, it would be up to them to do so, so as not to make insurmountable mistakes. On the other hand, I put at your disposal four files in text mode, with your comment thread in Spanish even those that are in other languages, for which I would only ask you to tell me where to send them, if it can be useful
With the Defender Control program, when you activate the defender, if the process fails, restart the Windows. Wait for a while after Windows restarts, windows defender will be active.
Please use it in safe mode
now i cant see real-time protection from security settings
and i can’t enable windows defender
How can I fix this?
Trate descomprimir pero ya no es el mismo password: sordo sabra cuales el correcto
After each update Windows become more intrusive, aggressive and difficult to tame. They have decided to take control of our lives.
I use Defender control very sporadically and I have installed it on a brand new clean istalltion.
I find it works best of you don’t use it all the time. If I enable (disable Defend) full-time and use it 24/7 I’ll run into W11 issues. I’ve tested it on a new W11 clean installation. Another thing to keep in mind (unrelated but related to how MS has added serious dependencies) is msedgewebview2.exe which is also tightly integrated with Windows.
If you try some of the hacks online and uninstall it, you’ll likely run into issues. But most people may not be aware until a serious data/application occurs.
Thanks for the DefenderControl, works well on W11 22H2 also after reboot 🙂 . I did try registry , scheduler, group policy edit which help making the proces idle
Really useful program thank you
I sometimes have problems restarting Defender, it cannot be restarted.
Windows also notices this but when I want to restart the protection service in the Security center I get an unknown error. Sometimes Virus and threat management can be opened but Anti-tampering protection is turned off and apparently controlled by a policy or my organisation and I have neither of them.
Microsoft has tightened "Defender" protection.
I have used Defender Control in many computers, all had fresh clean installs of Win 10 Pro 21H2. However, in my last computer, when I clicked "Disable", Defender Control showed a message that I needed first to turn off tamper control manually. Why did that happen?
@Sordum Team
Your instructions for %windir%\system32\SecurityHealthSystray.exe is beyond my knowledge and comfort level.
Please provide a ,bat file that will accomplish what you say to do: (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) or task scheduler for all users.
We tried it on Windows 11 system and we did not have such a problem. SecurityHealthSystray.exe is running at startup. Somehow This option may have been deleted from the registry. As a solution, you can add the following command to windows startup. %windir%\system32\SecurityHealthSystray.exe You can use startup folder, registry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) or task scheduler for all users.

In Windows 11, Defender icon is missing in notification panel when it’s enabled. You need to enable it (again) in dControl.exe each time you want it to show. Please fix this bug.
Thanks so much…you are a genius!
vbs is an alternative script. If Defender Control is blocked by Microsoft defender then it will help you to open "Real time protection" page. and you can turn off real Time Protection easily.
You Don’t have to run the .vbs now
