Windows 11 and 10 offers less UI control over the updating behavior of the operating system than previous versions of Windows , There is no option to turn off Windows Updates using the Control Panel or Settings app in Windows 11 & 10, it checks for updates automatically and install any updates they find, whether you like it or not. This new feature is actually pretty convenient for most users. If you want control over the update process you can disable the Windows Update service . This requires that you open the Services manager, locate the service and change its startup parameter and status. You would then have to enable the service again whenever you want the operating system to check for updates (It does not look so easy).
Windows Update Blocker is a freeware that helps you to completely disable or enable Automatic Updates on your Windows system , with just a click of the button . This utility is portable, which means that you are no longer required to go through the installation process and no leftovers will remain on the HDD after its removal. if you place the program file to an external data device, you make it possible to take Windows Update Blocker everywhere with you and use it on any computer you come in contact with, who has things configured just right, and doesn’t want to take the chance that an update might mess up their system. This utility is for that person.
How it works
After downloading, extract Windows Update Blocker to your desired location, then run it
service status icon will show your windows Update service status , if you want to block Automatic Windows Updates Choose “Disable Service” And click “Apply Now” Button , Protect service setings can prevent Uncontrolled change (Recommended).

Wuausrv service showing only for informational purposes therefore you can not edit it.
NOTE: If the windows update service doesn’t start or if there is a problem even though you have enabled windows updates, please restart your system and try again. When windows updates are turned off, some windows processes or programs may try to open and repair Windows updates, resulting in windows update being damaged. Please use the Windows Update Troubleshooter from Microsoft if the updates do not open after restarting the system.

Hello.
I ran WUB with the default wub.ini. The UsoSvc service will have a manual startup type and a stopped state.
But after that, UsoSvc is running even though it is manual. Isn’t it downloaded from Windows Update?
From “Wub.ini” file you can only disable under “\Microsoft\Windows\” folder tasks , for example, if we want to disable the “\Microsoft\Windows\Bluetooth\UninstallDeviceTask” task; add the “Bluetooth = 1” under the [TaskScheduler_List] line.
If there is more than one task in the folder and we just want to disable the UninstallDeviceTask task, it is necessary to add something like this
Bluetooth\UninstallDeviceTask=0

Greeting 🙂 I have problems with disabling MS Office Tasks in Task Scheduler, it is in Office Folder, there are 2 task in this folder, but I can not disable it because I dont know how to disable them using wub.ini. Please explain me how.
Second problem is, I can not disable Device task, it is in Windows Folder -> Device Information… same situation, I dont know how to disable it using wub.ini
Please kindly explain me how to disable these Tasks in Task scheduler, I am not a techie guy, forgive my limited knowledge. Thank you very much for you kindness and your great softwares .
Does WUB need a special environment? Task shreduler activated?
I tried to use it on a computer with Win10 LTSC optimized for audio (40 services of which only 23 windows). It runs but in the background with no window… just listed in the task manager but doesn’t seem to work.
I used : net stop UsoSvc /yes but UsoSvc reboot.
@Ahiraldo
A different application or service may be running in the background that turns off Windows updates. Please check. I have been using wub for years and have not encountered this issue.
@naryfa : Thank you we will investigate it
@Ahiraldo : Hi sorry for hear this , We use WUB in our own windows Computers without any Problem, please try this trick , just Enable Updates and restart your pc
@Tony : Thank you for the clarification
Some services have changed again. There is MoUsoCoreWorker.exe now
Been using Windows Update Blocker for a while now and it’s great at blocking updates, but now I actually need to update because I’m having driver problems with my card (the drivers need a recent windows version). The thing is that when I use Wub and click on "Enable Updates" and apply settings, the service status goes green and then after 2-3 seconds it goes back to red (with a cross), so basically I have no way of turning this program off. I tried manually enabling the windows update service but again, it goes back to being disabled after a sec. What could be causing this? and how can I enable updates again? Thanks!

@Japan ken : We don’t have such an error.
@MIKE
Thank you so much!
0xc0000022 occurs in some environments of Windows 10 (20h2). It does not occur when running Wub_x64.exe on the desktop, but it does occur when running from a shared folder.
Have you noticed?
@KEN
I have been using it for a long time and had no problem. However, sometimes it is necessary to open the windows update to install something.
@leaf
I used it on win10 version 1909 before. I had no problem.
@leaf: yes
@KEN: yes WUb can stop it
@Sebastian: In our test systems there is no such Problem
