In previous Windows versions , the Shut Down Button location was different and probably you have searched the similar interface ,there is one but seems hidden. Windows 10 includes a Shut Down Windows dialog box that you can open with a keyboard shortcut. There are many different ways to shut down or restart Windows One of them is by pressing the Alt+F4 combination to bring up the Windows classic shutdown dialog box.
1. First of all, you need to close the windows on which you’re working. Or you can minimize those.
2. Now, press the ‘Alt‘ and ‘F4‘ keys simultaneously. You will observe a dialog box named as ‘Shut Down Windows‘.
3. You could see the “What do you want the computer to do?” section. From the drop-down menu below this section.
In the Close Window dialog box, you can select what you want the computer to do from the following actions.
Switch users
Sign out
Sleep
Shut Down
hibernate
restart
We created a small Portable freeware “Classic Shut Down” to open the same dialog Box with parameter support. cShutdown.exe or cShutdown_x64.exe has no GUI , If you double click it one of them you will see the Classic Shut Down Dialog box. For the usability (ergonomics) you can pin it to the Taskbar, this way will provide you ease of use.
In addition you can use “Classic Shut Down” with parameters. To see all available parameters , just Open Command Prompt in the “cShutdown” folder (Usually right clik the folder while you pressing the Shift key and Choose Open Command window here)
With your input and support, we will add new features as need be.
Supported operating systems: Windows 11 , Windows 10 , Windows 8.1 , Windows 8 , Windows 7 , Windows Vista , Windows Xp – (x86 & x64)
