If you’ve been searching the web to understand how to test image files in QEMU, you’ve come to the right place. Our freeware, QEMU Simple Boot, simplifies the process.. It is a generic machine emulator and virtualizer. What does this mean? Imagine you have an ISO file which needs testing. You would first need to burn it to a disc, wasting time and a CD/DVD, or you could install a virtual drive and mount the ISO. But there is an easier way … QEMU Simple Boot.
how to use it:
Download the ZIP and extract it to the folder of your choice, then run Qsib.exe. The application is is very simple to use – just drag and drop your .iso, .ima or .img file(s) into the window, and click “Start QEMU Test”. (There is also a checkbox letting you optionally close the program after QEMU has started). You can also use the plus (+) button located near the bottom right of the window to manually select an image file. A slider bar in the top right allows you to choose how much system RAM to to allocate to the test.
In addition, the Menu button in the bottom right of the window allows you to:
– test your USB, CD/DVD images and discs
– easily test your multiboot menu workout
– change the language (found in qsib.ini). Turkish, English and German languages are pre-installed.
QEMU Simple Boot is both portable and free.
NOTE: Please don’t use QEMU Simple Boot to test Windows OS images. It was designed for quickly testing boot loaders for USB flash drives or small image files with low resource requirements. It was not designed to be a full virtualization environment.

After update qemu folder You can use Open Configuration File button to open .ini file and edit lines under the [Qemu_Options] but no guarantee Our sofware just uses QUemu we are not the Quemu developer
Great little app! I’ve know about QEMU for a while but this makes using it so easy!
Is there a way to update QSIB to the most recent version of QEMU? I looked in QSIB’s QEMU directory and it looks nothing like the directory structure of the most recent QEMU release.
Do you also know of a way to boot an image file in QEMU (or through QSIB) via command line? This would be invaluable for making portable apps for older software.
Thanks For all the hard work and very good software you provide for the rest of us.
I keep getting Error Exit Code 255. I had to decrease the RAM size to 768 to avoid it.I thought I might bring this to your attention.
Thanks
Abid
Thank you
So helpful
Like this tool.
It would be nice if you make it possible to test “superfloppy” images which are more than 1.44 mb and 2.88 mb .
THANX
it is a QEMU Emulator error (our software just uses Quemu) probably your softwares uses more RAm than Quemu try to take
If you need to increase the size of the memory to the maximum value, an error occurs
Qume ExitCode:255
thanks for your comment
Hello,
would be nice if you could add an option to boot from USB. I got a linux installed directly to my USB thumb drive and would like to be able to use it with qemu.
