Switching power plans require you to open Power Options applet from Control Panel or from Windows Settings app. In the Power Options applet, you can choose one of the three options — Balanced, High performance and Power saver, or you can create your own custom plans. You might have some reasons to switch between power plans for example ;
1. You can choose “High Performance” power plan to increase FPS while playing a Game
2. When the laptop battery is low , You can switch to the “power saver” plan and make the battery last longer.
3. In summer, you can create your own power plan to reduce the CPU frequency and avoid the laptop from getting hot.
4. You can create a special plan to prevent the computer from going to sleep during the download.
There are Lots of methods to switch power plans , for example ; Right Click battery icon in task-bar – Choose Power Options – Choose One of the suitable power Plan or You can use Windows Mobility Center and choose the power plan you wish to use under Battery Status. You can also use command prompt or powershell. Switching power plans multiple times a day is time consuming. We have created a small Portable free Application “Switch Power Scheme” to simplify the whole process.

Thank you for this. It makes it easier to switch a power plan now.
A suggestion ,make the standard PowerPlans have their own tray icons, for example:
– Balanced (Half green like it is now) ,
– Power saver: Full green
– Custom power plans :other color like full red
The reason for this is that you can see your applied power plan without taking the mouse to the tray icon.
What we desperately need is a battery management application/tweak that stops the battery from charging once a given percentage is reached, eg. 60%.
Do you think is possible to add an option to change the power plan depending on current running program ?
Example: if I start Steam, the power scheme will change automatically for power saver (or any other currently configured, like Ryzen power plan).
When the program is closed, the power scheme will return for a default scheme.
There is an old program doing that, called Full Throttle Override, but it not allow us to choose custom power plans.
Very nice tool (harika araç başkan)
@Mike
thanks it works perfectly
@Ege
You can create a batch file and run the batch file hidden. Simple batch file example for import and active;
@Echo Off
Set tGUID=01234567-89AB-CDEF-0123-456789ABCDEF
Set tFile="C:\PowerPlan.pow"
CD /D %windir%\System32\
if exist %tFile% (
powercfg.exe /DELETE %tGUID%
powercfg.exe /IMPORT %tFile% %tGUID%
powercfg.exe /SETACTIVE %tGUID%
)
Can you pelase add cmd support to import and activate a power plan as hidden
Persian Language has been added , thank you
Hello. You can download the Persian translation file of the program Switch Power Scheme
thank you
We may add such a feature (knowing current power plan In right click context menu) in version 1.3 but No no certainty.
When you refer to the ‘next version’, is that the version we’re downloading now in January ’21?
Maybe referring to Vn1.1 or the version after 0.8, mutatis mutandis.
I think it would be great if back up save the settings into its own folder instead of the export (Like Backup Start Menu Layout program). I hope you do this in the new version.Thank you
Thanks for sofrware
You can only see it from the software interface. We have noted it down for the next version
In right click context menu, how to know the current power plan that is in place. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment, we have noted it down.
Please, add with warning Ultimate Performance, when the tool detects Windows 10.
